What if Barney started at a point inside the triangle?
Consider these pictures:
Starting Point on a random parallel line. | Starting Point on parallel line that goes through a trisection point. | Starting Point on a parallel line that goes through the midpoint. |
We can see that as long as the starting point on the inside of the triangle is on the same parallel line to the base as if the point was on the side of the triangle, then the path does not change.
